Angela Puentes-Leon

Angie Puentes-Leon has extensive experience litigating individual and mass tort matters in state and federal courts in Florida and throughout the United States. She has represented domestic and foreign clients in products liability litigation and complex commercial litigation. Her practice focuses on defending clients in personal injury and wrongful death actions that involve products and consumer goods related to industries that include automotive, aviation, pharmaceutical and medical device, and food. Her experience includes presenting opening statements and conducting direct and cross examinations in multiple jury trials.

Angie is very involved in the community through pro bono work and volunteerism. She was recognized by the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida for her work with The Volunteer Lawyer’s Project. In addition, she was awarded the Pro Bono Publico Award and the Thomas A. Snow Community Service Award. She is currently and Adjunct Professor of the Honor’s College at Florida International University. She was also previously President of the Mercy Hospital Foundation’s Angels of Mercy and Chairperson of the St. John Bosco Clinic Christmas Food Drive. She currently serves as Secretary of the SSJ Health Foundation.

Angie is an alumna of the education ministry of the Sisters of St. Joseph of St. Augustine. Angie attended primary and middle school at St. Theresa Catholic School in Coral Gables, Florida, at that time a school staffed by the Sisters of St. Joseph. Angie is also a high school alumna of Our Lady of Lourdes Academy in Miami, Florida. She went on to obtain her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Cum Laude at Florida International University and her Juris Doctorate, Cum Laude at the University of Miami. She is married and has two children.
